Right to keep and bear arms
In a free and open society, it is essential to remember that if you are free to think, say, and do whatever you want, so is everyone else. There may be hundreds or thousands of various opinions on one topic. This opens the door for every form of ideology and the developments of those ideologies are manifold.
Enter, the United States Constitution.
The US Constitution is one of the most amazing documents ever penned. Along with the Bill of Rights, the US Constitution sets up specific rules of conduct for a free and open society. These documents weren’t just outpoured thoughts that our founding fathers had one morning in the form of 280 characters. Rather, they were diligently developed to address the oppressive dictatorship that the British Monarchy had imposed on the then colonies.
The 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights was designed to keep a tyrannical government from overpowering its citizens, but also provides its citizens the right to keep the open and free society from turning into anarchy. After all, if everyone is armed, we will all behave quite civilly regardless of our 1st Amendment right to say whatever we please. In short, the right to keep and bear arms helps us all get along in a country that is second to none in its freedoms.
